Papercuts 03:20
You know it's hard, so hard, when you're far, so far from your other. And so you pass out cold, in the hopes that the skies will pass rapid. And with those lungs full of smoke you impose on yourself for the fever. Does the South stretch out like they say to the wild, open coastals? And could we speak with our burnt up insides like we're jetting for heaven? And could we dust ourselves with the sun on a hot, level surface? (Like we knew we were setting). And who'll take us in? With our bodies in baskets, oh the state we're in. And who'll clean us up? When it's surgery to seal up papercuts.

now or never 03:29
Hide away, you will be the ground, and I will stay, ever feeling better. I could make you love me like the jetty feels the wave against its soaking shelter. Now it's up we rise again. And it's low, breathless in the wind. And it's now or never. You left your hair all over the apartment. (I left this part for you to fill in later). We only talk of grace, and how the country falls apart, in spite of the glue. Now it's up we rise again. And it's low, breathless in the wind. And it's now or never.

Birds hum as gulls made of sheet metal make their way towards chrome canyons, glass girders - here we flock to flee. And there was paint on the graves that we prayed to. And on their white marble face, we'd repent for fathers, disfigured, and brothers...for coasts and their lines that erode. For heroin hearts, your heroine heart. Someday, my sister, you'll hear how I've tried twice in a life to invent a cleaner space. I'm better, for now I will keep several hands on me. And cut down the signs that suggest that it's wrong to go back, we're wrong to go back.

If this is love, I'll stay (though she's been pulled away). Sometimes sleep will hold you to the broken ways. So lay down for the night, and shield yourself from sight. Because she came to you in darkened rooms, and everything was light.

howl too 03:21
Dirty rotten ghosts, hanging on to me. Don't seduce my baby tonight, just lend me to the sea. I'll pay what I can, once I know the price. Love is worth the sting in the throat. Lungs filled up with sand. So once you find my bones, send them back to bed. And if you have a home, make it better there.

Did He Dance 05:13
Dark, dark, dark - getting light. Five am, and it's not right. I see now that you were right (I could run, but not hide). Did he dance with you? If only for a few. And we fell right into the night, oh, into the night. Hard, hard, hard - he will breathe. Twice entwined you will be. Best not watch, in case I see what I know is happening. Did he dance with you? If only for a few. And we fell right into the night, oh, into the night.

Rust in the gears, you will see. I'll sleep forever underneath signs for the bypass, we'll grow old, lost in the centre of the earth. And lights will disappear. You dug up bodies, bruised and maimed. I asked politely for their names. Woke as a ghost, and craved your bones. Dropped back and tossed at our old homes. And lights will disappear.
9.
Lost in California, though I've never been. Would you like to be there? Bake in the dry desert heat. We'd draw maps on our backpacks, fill them with words from the road. Sleep on the strip by the embassy, and make the Pacific a home. We'd live in basement apartments, and crash on an old pullout couch. Make up a story and stick to it, with the white light from the South. We could pretend we're explorers combing the coast for lost gold. Left by those sad, sea sick ladies. We're homesick, but not alone. And all that we have left for this great and untamed West is here in hidden corners (we'll make our way back).
